Mark Ross, Son of Time Warner Trailblazer Steve Ross, Invests in Riptide Music Group

We're excited to announce a partnership with Mark Ross, son of the late Steve Ross, who founded Warner Communications in the 1970s and played a key role in the establishment of Time Warner a decade later.  As Riptide's partner, Mark will invest to finance the future growth of the business to help us serve all of you better.  In particular, we are planning to increase the size of our creative sales team so we can find more opportunities to place your music.  We will also invest in our administration department so we can collect and report your royalties more robustly.

Mark previously served as Executive Director of Quincy Jones Productions. He started in the music business as a tape librarian at Atlantic Studios, later running his own imprint label under Universal Records.

Mark is a music guy to the core, and he brings a world of knowledge, relationships and enthusiasm to the table. He shares our vision in the unlimited potential of Riptide Music Group and we are thrilled to have him come on board.

Along with the package, George Howard becomes a member of the Riptide staff. George was an early founder of Tunecore, one of the leading digital aggregators. Additionally, he served as president of Rykodisc, and formerly managed superstar Carly Simon, and is a professor at Berklee College of Music.

George is plugged into the technology of music, and brings to Riptide his solid entrepreneurial and strategic experience across many aspects of the music industry. He’ll help to drive our business development and strategic growth initiatives on a global level.

Many of you have been with us for years and have seen us grow.  We are only as good as the music you create and we couldn’t have gotten to this point without you.  Now is the most exciting time ever for the Riptide community and we’re looking forward to working with you in the coming years.
